LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Three homes were swept away by a mudslide in Warren County after remnants from Tropical Storm Lee drenched the Garden State.

A home on Lewis Lane in Liberty Township slid down the banks toward Mountain Lake late last night. Liberty Township Mayor John Inscho says no one was hurt because the families that were standing on their decks minutes earlier had just fled.

Authorities evacuated about 50 people from the area out of concern that more homes could slide into the lake. Shelters have been set up at local schools and fire departments for about 300 people who were evacuated from their homes.
