3 armed robberies reported within an hour in Newark

NEWARK - Police in Newark are investigating three armed robberies overnight that all happened within an hour of each other.

The robberies all reportedly happened in the city's North Ward.

The owner of Valdez's Liquors tells News 12 New Jersey two men with masks and hooded sweatshirts came in armed with a firearm and allegedly made off with about $2,000.

Victims at another liquor store and a gas station say they were robbed by men fitting a different description. It remains unknown if the three incidents are related.

Police hope surveillance video from one of the businesses may help find those responsible for the robberies.
