3-alarm fire damages Wallington home Monday afternoon

Dozens of people were forced to evacuate their homes after a three-family house caught fire in Wallington.

WALLINGTON - Dozens of people were forced to evacuate their homes after a three-family house caught fire in Wallington.

The fire started Monday afternoon at the home on Wadsworth Street that was under construction. No one was inside the home at the time. Firefighters were able to put the fire out within about 20 minutes.

Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. Fire departments from several nearby towns were called in to help battle the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
