TEANECK - Several people were injured in Teaneck after a car crash took down a telephone pole.

Police say the accident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

They say a driver traveling on Route 4 West hit two other cars and then struck a telephone pole, knocking it down.

Investigators say the driver was injured, as were two other adults and a child in another car.

The driver has been charged with driving under the influence and assault by auto.    

Police say the right lane will be closed for most of the day while PSE&G works to clear the wires from the roadway.
