2nd suspect arrested in Seton Hall murder

NEWARK - The Essex County prosecutor says they have arrested the second suspect in the murder of a Seton Hall honors student.

Marcus Bascus, 19, was found hiding in the bathroom of a friend's apartment in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and arrested by U.S. Marshals around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Authorities say Bascus provided the gun to Nicholas Welch.

Welch, 25, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges of murder, conspiracy and weapon offenses.

Authorities say that Welch was refused admittance to a off-campus party on South Clinton Street and he returned with a gun and opened fire.

Jessica Moore, a 19-year-old Seton Hall sophomore, was shot and died Saturday afternoon. Four others were injured in the shooting.
