2nd student stabbed in just as many days at Passaic H.S.

PASSAIC - For the second day in a row, a student was attacked with a knife at Passaic High School.

Police say the incident took place near Broadway and Gregory avenues, and that a 16-year-old student was sliced on his arm and back. Authorities say the suspect is another Passaic High School student, who is not yet in custody.

Officials say that the injuries are non-life threatening and not as severe as yesterday's incident. That incident involved another 16-year-old student, who was stabbed several times just outside of Passaic High School. Yesterday's fight had students wondering about their own safety.

The victim of yesterday's stabbing was in intensive care and the suspect, also 16, now faces a charge of attempted murder. No charges have been filed against an 18-year-old who is suspected of supplying the knife.

Passaic Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Holster says that the 18-year-old is one of several older students in the high school who haven't earned a single credit of the 130 required to graduate.

Dr. Holster says he is "going to recommend that any student who has zero credit [of 18 years of age] is not permitted to attend our schools."

Officials say there is no connection between what happened yesterday and what happened this afternoon.
