EDISON - Education officials say 10 districts from across the state will take part in the second year of a teacher evaluation pilot program, while 14 more were chosen for the first year of the principal evaluation pilot program.
The Department of Education says 70 districts overall applied to participate in the programs during the upcoming school year.
The districts in the teacher evaluation program will share in $1 million that is being handed out in the first round of grant funding, while $400,000 overall will be available to those districts in the principal evaluation program.
Educators in the participating districts will work collaboratively with the education department to develop new educator evaluation systems for rollout across the state.
