22-year-old gunned down in Asbury Park

Another life has been cut short in Asbury Park as Eric Freeman, 22, was slain yesterday evening.The shooting occurred outside the Asbury Park Village projects.

ASBURY PARK - Another life has been cut short in Asbury Park as Eric Freeman, 22, was slain yesterday evening.

The shooting occurred outside the Asbury Park Village projects. The gunshots were heard at around 6 p.m. Witnesses say after Freeman was shot on the corner, he managed to run all the way down a sidewalk.

Gunshots were also reported on Monroe Avenue in the same housing complex. There is no word yet if the shootings were related. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office or the Asbury Park Police Department.
