FAIR LAWN - After allegedly fleeing a Walgreens Pharmacy in Fair Lawn where police say they tried to fill a phony prescription, two Newark women are facing attempted murder charges for striking two police officers with their car. Authorities say Cynthia Marlin, 30, and Priscilla Coleman, 31, took off in their car when the officers arrived. They say the driver of the vehicle backed up, knocking one officer to the ground. The other officer, identified as Sgt. Mike Messina, was able to open fire before the car struck him, throwing him over the hood of the car.
Both men were taken to Valley Hospital, where Sgt. Messina remains in stable condition. The women's car was later found in Newark. Both are in jail on $1 million bail. Shots fired as shoplifters attempt to run down officer
