PATERSON - Two young people were shot just hours apart in Paterson on Saturday.

Paterson police confirmed that just before 7 p.m. Saturday, they were called to Jefferson Street where a 16-year-old was shot in the back. He had been riding on a motorcycle at the time.

Two hours later, police say there was another shooting on 27th Street. Police have not confirmed the identity or age of the victim in this case. Two neighbors told News 12 they believe the victim was a young man or possibly a teen.

There was no word on whether the two Saturday night shootings were related.

Both victims are expected to survive.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Paterson police.
