Police say two separate attacks in Newark overnight left one man dead.Authorities say Donald Andrews, 40, from East Orange, was stabbed outside a liquor store

NEWARK - Police say two separate attacks in Newark overnight left one man dead.

Authorities say Donald Andrews, 40, from East Orange, was stabbed outside a liquor store on Tremont Avenue. He was transported University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say he is the first murder victim of 2011 in Newark.

The second attack left two men shot on Halstead Street early this morning, according to police. Both are expected to survive.

Investigators say they have made no arrests in either of the attacks.
