HACKENSACK - Recounts from November's election are still underway in two New Jersey districts.

In North Jersey’s District 38, a handful of votes separate two of the Assembly candidates, incumbent Democrat Tim Eustace and Republican Joseph Scarpa.

According to the Bergen County Board of Elections chairwoman, the ballots will be hand-counted to make sure the results are accurate.

"With the mail-ins and the provisional ballots, we have over 3,000 and those have to be hand-counted, so it's a lengthy process," says Eileen Debari. "It's very time-consuming."

The Board of Elections expects to have the recount finished by the end of next week.

The other recount is in Atlantic County in South Jersey.
