2 Millburn officers injured in crash during pursuit

2 Millburn officers injured in crash during pursuit (2/11/16)

LIVINGSTON - Two officers are recovering after suffering injuries while pursuing a suspect in Essex County.

The two Millburn police officers were chasing a suspect Wednesday night in Livingston when they crashed.

The crash happened near the intersection of Livingston Avenue and Hobart Gap Road. One police cruiser hit a gas station sign. The other hit a utility box, knocking out the power to traffic lights.

The officers were taken to a hospital to be evaluated and are expected to be OK.

Officials have not yet said why the officers were chasing the suspect.

The suspects were able to escape. No arrests have been made.
