DOVER - Two men were hospitalized after they were stabbed in a fight at the Dover Hills Apartments in Dover Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the complex on First Street around 3:45 p.m. for reports of two people injured inside Building A.

Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey that they heard fighting coming from the apartment and then two men emerged bloodied. They were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the details on the incident or if anyone else was involved. A portion of First Street was closed for a time while police gathered evidence inside the apartment.

Neighbors say that the complex is made up of mainly families, so they are surprised that an incident like this could happen.

Dover police say that the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has become involved in the investigation. Criminal charges may be pending.
