2 men fatally shot during night of violence in Essex County

BLOOMFIELD - Authorities in Essex County are investigating two separate homicides that happened in Newark and Bloomfield yesterday, leaving two men dead.

Police say the first incident happened at 1:45 p.m. at 105 Floyd Ave. in Bloomfield, where 58-year-old Joseph Rossi, of Verona, was found shot to death in his amusement machine business.

The second shooting occurred in Newark at 9:45 p.m. at 27 Bedford St., resulting in the death of 21-year-old Antoine Rogersd, according to officials.

So far, no arrests have been made in either case, and police say the shootings do not appear to be related.
