NEWARK - The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has announced that two men are under arrest in connection with a violent sexual assault of a young woman at Irvington Park.

According to prosecutors, the victim, an 18-year-old college student, was returning home from night classes on the bus. When she got off, she was approached by two males. They tried speaking to her, but she rejected them. The men then allegedly pulled out a gun and forced her into the park.

The two men are accused of raping the victim at gunpoint.

This morning, a 17-year-old male from Newark, and Derrick Baker, 26, of Newark were arrested and charged in connection with the crime.

The name of the juvenile isn't being released at this time. He is being held at the Essex County Youth House.

Baker is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility.
