NEWARK - Two people were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Newark last night.

Investigators got a call from the owner of Steady Nails Salon, who found a bullet on the ground while opening this morning. There were three bullet holes in his storefront, and a bullet broke through the glass at neighboring Tejada Food.

A witness says the shooter was driving in a car along Chancellor Avenue and began firing at a crowd of people near the intersection of Leslie Street.

Witnesses say one man was shot in the abdomen and another was shot in the back. Their names and conditions are unknown.
