EAST ORANGE - One person has been killed in a fire in East Orange, according to the city's fire chief.

No other injuries are being reported as a result of the blaze. The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. and consumed parts of two homes on Oraton Parkway.

Police say the fire caused traffic on the parkway as drivers passed through the area.

The fire is now under control.
