2 dead in East Orange high-rise fire

EAST ORANGE - Authorities are trying to determine what caused a fire in an East Orange high-rise apartment building that claimed the lives of an adult and a child.

The three-alarm blaze began on the 7th floor of the 10-story building at 50 South Munn Ave. at around 9:30 p.m. last night.

City officials say the adult was found dead on the seventh floor. Firefighters rescued the child, who died at a hospital. Officials have not yet released the names of the victims. Two others were injured.

The fire was brought under control by 10 p.m.
