SOUTH BRUNSWICK - A crash involving a tour bus and a tractor-trailer has left the driver of the bus and one of the passengers in critical condition, another passenger in serious condition, and 14 others with minor injuries.

Authorities shut down the New Jersey Turnpike's southbound outer roadway between Interchanges 9 and 8A in South Brunswick Township for several hours while they conducted an accident investigation. The lanes have since been reopened.

The injured were taken to Saint Peter's University Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Central State Medical Center.

The tour bus was operated by DC Trails Inc. The bus trip originated in Brooklyn and made a stop in Manhattan, according to a DC Trails Inc. spokesperson. The bus was headed to Washington, D.C. with 53 people on board.

The driver of the tour bus has been identified as a 52-year-old Andy Lynch from Chesapeake, Va. who has been working for the company for 13 years.
