EDISON - An Edison teenager is facing charges of careless driving in connection with a July 4 crash that sent a pedestrian flying through a plate glass window.

Police say the 17-year-old driver lost control of his pickup truck on Woodbridge Avenue Friday afternoon, jumped the curb and struck the woman before slamming into a restaurant.

The impact flung the woman through the front window and into the dining area.

Authorities say 65-year-old Noorjehan Khan, of New York, suffered back and internal injuries.

She remains hospitalized at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Police did not release the driver's name because he is a minor.
