1 killed, 3 injured in NJ Turnpike crash, driver charged with drunken driving

NEWARK - State police are investigating a fatal accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early this morning.

Police say a car lost control and hit a barrier in the northbound lanes. Two couples were inside.

The front passenger was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead.

A male passenger in the backseat suffered a severe neck injury. The driver and another woman were treated for minor injuries.

Authorities say a female driver has been charged with drunken driving.
