1 injured in minor North Brunswick explosion

Authorities are investigating a small explosion this morning in North Brunswick that injured one person. The explosion apparently happened at a locksmith store on Livingston

NORTH BRUNSWICK - Federal and local authorities are investigating a small explosion near a locksmith shop in North Brunswick.

The explosion, which left one man with minor injuries, happened at around 4 a.m. on Livingston Avenue. The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment, and has since been released.

Livingston Avenue was closed for several hours and traffic had to be diverted while emergency crews secured the area.

As the investigation continues, the FBI says the public's safety is not at risk.
