EAST ORANGE - Officials say one child was injured and eight people were displaced after a fire broke out in East Orange early Saturday morning.

The flames started at a home on Amherst Street at around 4 a.m.

Officials say one child was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Witnesses tell News 12 that the fire spread to the home next door.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
