Marci Rubin

Marci Rubin is an Emmy award winning general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for News 12 New Jersey.

Rubin began her broadcast journalism career at News 12 Long Island as a writer and producer. When the reporting bug bit, she headed south, spending a few years covering the sun and sand along the "Grand Strand" for WBTW, the CBS affiliate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While down south, Rubin covered everything from hurricanes, rare snow fall, to a tragic fatal police shooting and ground breaking court cases. She also spent time behind the anchor desk.

In 2005, Rubin realized there is no place like home and came back to the Northeast and the News 12 family. She freelanced as a reporter and weekend anchor at News 12 Long Island, until joining the New Jersey team full time in 2008.

Rubin has been nominated for numerous awards, including an Emmy for her coverage of a Long Island Brush fire in the ‘spot news’ category. She has also won an AP News award for her coverage of an apartment complex fire in Scotch Plains, and in 2011, won an Emmy for a piece she produced, wrote and reported on about "Happiness is Camping". A camp for kids with Cancer.

Rubin lives in Hudson County and spends as much time as possible at the beach. She loves getting to know her New Jersey neighbors and telling your stories.
