Karla Bardiñ Karla Bardiñas Shore Reporter Email

Emmy Award-winning Shore Reporter Karla Bardiñas is thrilled to cover the area she knows best.

She grew up at the Jersey Shore, and now it's where she's raising her family.

Karla graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Highest Honors from the Department of Journalism and Mass Media at Rutgers College. She was the first television reporter to bring the story of 9-11 survivor Will Jimeno to light. Years later, his story was depicted in Oliver Stone's movie "World Trade Center." In fact, her coverage in that capacity earned her an Emmy nomination as well as an Edward R. Murrow Award.

She has covered everything from the Clinton impeachment hearings in Washington to the TWA Flight 800 disaster. Her heart, though, lies with her love for children. Her passion is to tell stories that can help their lives.

Karla says, "That's the best part of the job!"
