(09/19/06) NEWARK ? Police in Newark have arrested a 12-year-old boy in the shooting death of a teen over the weekend.

Police say 15-year-old Brandon Bethea was shot in the head and literally left for dead at University Hospital Sunday. According to investigators, someone dumped Bethea in front of the hospital and left. One nurse says anonymous drop-offs are sad, but common at University Hospital.

The victim?s relatives say in addition to coping with Bethea?s death, they must also wrestle with the way his acquaintances treated him after the shooting. They say they are stunned their loved one was dumped at the hospital after being shot. The young boy taken into custody Monday has been charged with reckless manslaughter.
