Newark police are looking for the person who spray-painted hate graffiti on a car. 

The vehicle’s owner said that while she was waiting at a gas station Wednesday evening, a man told her that she had “KKK” written on the rear passenger side of her car.

"I thought he was kidding at first, and then he asked me to come see for myself, to get out the car. So when I did get out the car, I saw the ‘KKK’ written on the car,” said the victim, who didn’t want to be identified.

The woman reported the incident to police, who are now investigating. She said her car was parked from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday on Livingston Street.

Anyone with information about the graffiti incident is asked to call Newark police.
