Several New Jersey towns have begun to open warming centers for people who do not have adequate heat in their homes as temperatures prepare to drop.
News 12 New Jersey meteorologists say temperatures later this week are expected to become dangerously low, especially due to wind chill factors.
Temperatures Thursday evening into Friday may feel as if they are below zero. Snow is also possible this weekend.
Towns like Perth Amboy and New Brunswick have opened centers to protect the homeless and elderly.
Amenities vary by town, but the New Brunswick warming centers are equipped with cots, blankets and other resources on standby.
