A new bill may send anyone convicted of drunken driving to jail if they injure another person.
The state Senate passed the legislation Monday, and the bill is moving forward.
Lawmakers say the bill would raise the penalties to fit the crime.
Currently, drunken drivers that cause serious injury to someone don't usually get jail time.
