Nassau launches program to help schools rebound from pandemic expenses

Help is on the way for Nassau school districts as they recover from the pandemic.
The county is launching a new program aimed at helping schools recover from pandemic-related expenses.
It will provide consulting services to help districts apply for FEMA reimbursements and grant funding.
"Our schools worked to protect our kids and staff and our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic and now we want to protect them," says Nassau Executive Laura Curran.
According to the New York State School Boards Association, school districts across the state paid on average about $219 extra per child during the pandemic.
