Musician Wyclef Jean visited a New Jersey school on Tuesday.
Students from Sonia Sotomayor School in Passaic had the chance to ask Jean questions.
Jean was raised in East Orange. He first achieved fame as a member of the hip-hop group the Fugees.
"Music for me is a life saver and I think, for a lot of students, it's definitely a great escape. It's very inspirational and it takes them to a place where they can literally create their own world,” Jean says.
Along with student performances, a Gibson guitar was donated to the school.
