One firefighter was taken to the hospital after being injured in a house fire in Bayonne early Monday morning.
The fire was inside a house on West 32nd Street. Flames were seen shooting out of the upper floors of the home.
One of the neighbors told News 12 he was awoken during the night by all the commotion.
“I heard an alarm, I thought it was the car alarm and I heard people yelling, so I looked out my window and I seen from the reflection of the house next door the flames. And then I heard the police banging on the door and then we came out,” said neighbor Ronald Bilak.
No one was inside the home when the fire began. Nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
