Movies about music will be headlining the upcoming Asbury Park Music and Film Festival.

One documentary to be featured at the festival, "Riot, Redemption and Rock and Roll," delves into the social struggles of Asbury Park and its deep musical roots.

Movie studio executive and Jersey Shore resident Tom Bernard says a film festival about movies and music is natural for Asbury Park.

Fans of music and movies are expected at the Paramount Theatre and other venues in the city for movie screenings and live musical performances.

Among the performers is Jakob Dylan, whose documentary "Echo In The Canyon" will be screened at the festival.

Organizers say $500,000 has been given to music and social programs for Asbury Park students in the last five years.

The Asbury Park Music and Film Festival runs from April 25 to April 28.

The screening of never-before-seen concert footage of Bruce Springsteen, made available by the Springsteen Archive, will also be featured.
