Morris County was ranked as one of the best places for kids to live in New Jersey in a recent report.
The Association for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ) released its KIDS COUNT report, which ranked New Jersey?s 21 counties according to their quality of life for children. The counties were ranked based on child poverty, family spending, family income, test scores, abuse and neglect.
Morris County ranked second in the state behind Hunterdon County as the best in terms of quality of life for kids. It also ranked among the top in the state for its family and child care programs.
While Morris County ranked among the best, one group feels the county can still improve its services for low-income families. Mary Jo Buchanan, of the Family Services of Morris County, said, ?We really need to improve and look at that great divide, as we call it, where you have the haves and the haves not. There?s a lot of improvement and room for improvement for the haves not.?
