More than 300 volunteers scan Freehold field for missing woman
More than 300 volunteers searched a field on Route 524 in Freehold Saturday for a missing 25-year-old woman, one day after a person of interest in the case was found dead.
Stephanie Parze was last seen Oct. 30 after a family gathering.
News 12 asked Stephanie Parze's father, Ed Parze, why they were searching the area. He said there is no particular reason other than this was an area she frequently traveled by.
A search was also held in Staten Island, where her ex-boyfriend John Ozbilgen lived.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says Ozbilgen, 29, was found dead in his Freehold home on Kings Mountain Road Friday. Sources tell News 12 that it appears he hanged himself overnight. He was named a person of interest in this case.
Although nothing has been found yet, Stephanie Parze's family and community still are not giving up.
"If Stephanie is watching this and she could hear me--you have to see what's going on," Ed Parze said. "Everyone is supporting you and I love you and they're trying to do whatever they can to find you, they just need you to keep strong and keep fighting."
A search for Stephanie Parze has been cancelled on Sunday due to weather. The next search is scheduled for Tuesday.
If anyone has any information on the case, they can contact the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
