Monmouth County freeholders ramp up efforts to push Gov. Murphy to reopen state, county parks

Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone said during Monday’s press conference he will be ramping up efforts to push Gov. Phil Murphy to reopen state and county parks.

Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone said during Monday’s press conference he will be ramping up efforts to push Gov. Phil Murphy to reopen state and county parks.

Arnone says the freeholders understand how important the parks are to everyone's wellbeing and mental health. 
It's been this way since April 7 when the governor issued the executive order shuttering all state and county parks.

Township and borough-run parks can remain open, under the discretion of local leaders.

Arnone says the parks will remain closed until at least May 15, as the governor said Monday the stay-at-home order remains in place until further notice.
