A 13-year-old girl from Franklin Township and her mother co-author a book titled, “Mommy, why Am I Different?"
Sarai Styles and her mother, Judy John-Styles, were signing copies Monday at the Stop & Shop in Somerset.
Sarai says the book was inspired by a conversation she had with her mother.
"I asked her why am I different? Why is my hair different, my skin? Just to name a few,” says Sarai. “She answered me with affirmations. So, we wrote it all down and created it into a book. I love to inspire young children, so that they can be confident in themselves, and know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made."
Sarai was 12 when she helped write the book. Her advice -- if you have a story, write it down so you can share it with the world.
