Middlesex police say the alligator that was spotted in a lake in Middlesex may not be there anymore.

Police say they have not seen the alligator in Ambrose Brook or Lake Creighton in the last week.

Authorities advise residents to stay away from the animal if they spot it and to contact police.

The park is open, but there is still no fishing, swimming or congregating on lakeside docks.
