Marriage equality celebrated at NYC pride parade
Two days after the Supreme Court's landmark ruling legalizing gay marriage nationwide, millions across the country took part in pride parades to celebrate.
An estimated 2 million people hit the streets of New York City Sunday for the nation's largest LGBT pride parade.
The annual event was an extra meaningful celebration because of the ruling that extends marriage benefits to gay couples in all 50 states.
Pride celebrations also kicked off in Lexington, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio, the hometown of Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court case whose fight for his dying partner led to the national decision.
