Beaches along the Jersey Shore are preparing for the potential impact of Isaias, which is currently a hurricane off the coast of Florida but could reach the Garden State as a tropical storm next week.

The Manasquan community is looking out for the safety of its beach, property and people.

Beach erosion became a concern following Tropical Storm Fay in places like Bradley Beach.

"We're always concerned about beach erosions, but there's really not a lot we can do about it," says Mayor Ed Donovan.

Donovan says engineers come out to the beach before storms and then afterward to assess the damage.

There will also be a full moon coinciding with high tide on Tuesday.

Depending on when the storm reaches the area, it could exacerbate the effects.

Engineers are expected to be at Manasquan to assess the beach ahead of the storm.
