Man wanted in connection with stabbing of six people in Newark in custody
News 12 has learned that the man wanted in connection with the stabbing of six people in Newark on Saturday is in police custody.
The U.S. Marshals Service and Newark police found 26-year-old Jeremy Arrington barricaded inside a home on Pomona Avenue around 8 p.m. Sunday.
A standoff went on for about an hour until police were able to take Arrington into custody.
News 12 has video of Arrington as he was led out by officials. He was quickly handcuffed and whisked away in a police car.
A neighbor told News 12 that Arrington did not live in the house where he was found. The location Arrington was found is one mile away from where the stabbings took place on Hedden Terrace.
The stabbing on Saturday took the lives of two children and one woman. Three others were hurt.
The victims were identified as 8-year-old Aerial Little Whitehurst, 11-year-old Al-Jahon Whitehurst and 23-year-old Syasia McBurroughs.
The three other people who sustained stab wounds in the incident remain hospitalized in critical condition.
