A bar that helped make Seaside Heights famous is set to be replaced with high-end living.
Almost two years after Bamboo Bar was demolished, there are plans to transform the property into luxury apartments.
The city gave developers the OK to build stores on the ground level with 48 luxury apartments above.
Mike Loundy , a broker with Seaside Realty Inc., says this site has been very popular.
"We are hopeful to be able to start taking reservations on both the residential and commercial units in a few months," Loundy said.
Planning and permitting for the site are still in progress, according to the project's website that also displays renderings and a proposed site layout for the upcoming project. The new building will have commercial store fronts on the ground level, the website says.
A pool, gym and a public meeting/events room with ocean views will also be included.
Karma, a club closed for five years and made popular by the "Jersey Shore," could also become a multi-unit complex.
