Long-awaited 'Many Saints of Newark' trailer drops to delight of 'Sopranos' fans
Fans of “The Sopranos” won’t have to wait too much longer for the feature film prequel to the revolutionary TV series.
“The Many Saints of Newark” will be released on Oct. 1 in theaters and on HBO Max, where it will stream for subscribers for 31 days.
A trailer for the film was released on Tuesday.

The film follows a young Tony Soprano “as he grows up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history.” He’s played by Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini - who portrayed the crime boss during the show’s 10-year run beginning in 1997.
Last September, the cast and crew returned to New Jersey to film reshoots put on hold by the pandemic. The “Many Saints” cast was in Bloomfield to film at the famed ice cream shop Holstens – also where the last scene of the last show took place.
News 12 was at the first ever SopranosCon in New Jersey in 2019. The next one is being held in Atlantic City on July 23-25.
