Connecticut's two major candidates for governor faced off for a second time Monday night as Election Day grows closer.

The debate between Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski took place at the Shubert Theater in New Haven.

Neither candidate came with any surprises, but Stefanowski came out swinging early and often.

Stefanowski repeatedly hammered a message of change, including tax cuts and a smaller, more efficient government.

Stefanowski said that he would cut taxes and attract enough jobs to make up for lost money. Lamont responded by saying his opponent was selling snake oil by pitching a plan to scrap the state income tax. Lamont says that would spike local property taxes.
