KIYC: Viewers react to recent investigations
Recent investigations by Kane In Your Corner sparked a lot strong feelings from News 12 New Jersey viewers.
Kane In Your Corner recently investigated the website HomeAdvisor after complaints that people who used some home contractors referred by the site had bad experiences.
“They need to do a lot more research into the companies they’re backing and putting their brand on,” said viewer Danielle after the story aired.
The website has over 1,000 complaints to the Better Business Bureau. After the Kane In Your Corner story aired, the bureau actually raised the company’s rating to an A+. The bureau says that the number of complaints have gone down and the company has made an effort to resolve them.
Many News 12 New Jersey viewers also had strong reactions to an investigation of the New Jersey SPCA.
Kane In Your Corner recently took a look at how the group spent about $300,000 with companies that were run by board members and their families.
“I just wanted to congratulate for your work on the New Jersey SPCA debacle,” said viewer Jan. “It is so clear that something is so wrong, and their reactions are so transparently insincere. So please keep on that.”
But viewer April asks,” Why does it matter? The SPCA does a ton of good for animals.”
Kane In Your Corner will next investigate how good a job the SPCA does in enforcing laws.
