For the first time since 2008, Jersey City held the Freedom and Fireworks Festival at Liberty State Park.

Mayor Steven Fulop says that when New York Mayor Bill de Blasio moved the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks back to the East River, it opened an opportunity for the city to create their own fireworks show.
