It’s just a prank! April Fools’ jokes make their way across the web
Monday was April 1, better known as April Fool’s Day – a day when everyone on the internet has free reign to troll one another.
A good number of companies got into the mix to confuse their customer base.
Tinder announced that it would introduce a new height-verification badge. The company jokingly said that the dating app would check pictures to make sure that users weren’t lying about their height in their profiles.
McDonald’s announced the “McPickle Burger.” No beef – just layers upon layers of pickles. The joke almost backfired when customers said that they loved the idea of dozens of pickles between two burger buns. The company had to say that the “McPickle” was only available until March 31.
Some New Jersey companies also got in on the April Fooling action. The New Jersey Devils’ mascot tweeted a video of him putting red food coloring into the Hudson River with the caption “Game Day Mood #AprilFools.”
The Lovely LBI Facebook page posted that it would now cost $14 per car to go over the LBI Bridge onto the island. That bridge is currently under construction.

The New Jersey VegFest claimed that Beyoncé would be performing at their festival in Atlantic City this summer – unfortunately, that was also a lie.
A good piece of advice – if you see something on social media that doesn’t seem right – especially on April 1, do some further research.
