Inspectors order Newark building to be exterminated

Newark vermin-control inspectors released a report Thursday detailing the extent of a building?s rodent infestation. The building, at 176 Avon Ave., is home to hundreds of people in the South Ward.

Inspectors order Newark building to be exterminated
Newark vermin-control inspectors released a report Thursday detailing the extent of a building?s rodent infestation.
The building, at 176 Avon Ave., is home to hundreds of people in the South Ward.
"There [are] thousands of buildings in the city; it's not often that we find something like this,? says Peter Dillon, of Newark Vermin Control, about the conditions the city found at 176 Avon Ave.
Newark vermin-control officials ordered the building?s management to exterminate every apartment. The city plans to oversee the effort.
Newark inspectors also stressed that residents of the building must work toward keeping their apartments tidy.
