State Sen. Shirley Turner (D) wants drastic action from President Bush to alleviate the rising cost of gas.
Turner is calling on the federal government to release oil from America's strategic oil reserves.
"We don't need any legislation," she says. "We don't need an energy summit. The president can do that himself."
New Jersey gas retailers say releasing the reserves would be a mistake and say the high prices are due to oil companies driving prices up, not a shortage of fuel.
